We’re a student-run nonprofit dedicated to closing the STEAM and public health literacy gap for underserved communities worldwide. On this page, you’ll learn who we are, how our programs work, and the impact we’re making across North Carolina, California, Thailand, and India
We design and deliver standardized, project-based curricula in STEAM, healthcare, and nutrition that can be sent anywhere and tailored to the specific group and culture it is taught to. Our programs use simple, affordable materials so they can be easily replicated by teachers and volunteers anywhere. What makes STEAMHEALS unique is our emphasis on:
Students 4 STEAM
Our high school and college clubs design and lead STEM projects (like Marshmallow Towers and Pasta Mobiles) to teach elementary and middle school students.
Healthy HEALs
Our nutrition and wellness curriculum, developed by UNC students, is taught in Thailand and India. Programs cover topics such as exercise habits, healthy eating, and menstrual health education.
Our model is simple and scalable:
This cycle ensures that programs last beyond one-time events and continue to grow with each generation of student leaders.
We measure our success not just in numbers, but in the confidence and skills our students gain, inspiring future careers in STEAM, healthcare, and beyond.
