Origami

Welcome to Origami!

Come make great creations out of nothing but paper.

About

Origami is when one makes great creations out of nothing but paper. But what most people don't know is that origami doesn't only create fun arts and craft but also amazing scientific inventions. Because in origami, it's all about using everything you have. That's why there are no cuts. In origami you often make folds to make what you want. Similar things happen in the real world. Let's say you're designing a rocket but you have limited material because they are expensive. You have the hard task of being able to make the most use of the material you have. Often this in the form of pleating the rockets outer layers in certain ways, or folding the material to fit the design you want, just like origami.

How to make a Fortune Teller!:

Materials: 1 square sheet of paper!

Steps:

  1. Crease a square piece of paper diagonally from each corner. Fold the top right corner to touch the bottom left corner. Crease the fold with your finger and then unfold it so your sheet is flat again. Then take the top left corner and fold it over to the bottom right corner.
  2. Fold the paper in half from each side. Bring the top edge of the paper to the bottom edge and crease the fold. Unfold the paper so it’s flat again and rotate it by 90 degrees. Fold the new top edge of the paper to the bottom to crease it and then flatten it out again. Your paper will have four lines intersecting in the middle.
  3. Bring the corners to the center of the paper. Start with one of the bottom corners and fold it to the middle of the paper where the creases intersect.
  4. Turn your paper 90 degrees and fold the other bottom corner toward the center. Keep rotating and folding your paper until you’ve made a smaller square containing four triangles.
  5. Flip the paper over and fold each corner to the center again.
  6. Decorate your fortune teller!
